This is what I packed for the Teacher's College Reading and Writing Project Summer Reading Institute (2019).
- Chromebook (or laptop) with wireless mouse.
- Travel batteries (these work for my Chromebook and my Pixel phone)
- Pencil case with pencils, pens, highlighters, glue sticks, scissors, white out, eraser, hair band, and Flair Pens.
- Star Wars Water Bottle
- Make Waves Composition Notebook (not pictured: an additional notebook for notes)
- A Guide to the Reading Workshop
- Tapping the Power of Nonfiction curriculum book
- Social Issues Book Clubs curriculum book
- A Deep Study of Character curriculum book
- Pre-Arrival Trail Guide
- Bookingsly (my classroom mascot) - Giant Microbe
- Secret Body Wipes
- Secret Mini Deodorant (Freshies On-the-Go)
- Women's Cool Water
- Hand Sanitizer
I had no idea what I would all need, so I tried to pack a mini classroom survival kit, as well as materials that would be needed. The information said that we wouldn't need to bring our Units of Study books, but I like to be able to make notes in my copies while I'm learning. I guess I'll know more once I arrive.
Additionally, I will be walking about 1.5 miles to the college everyday and I figured I might need to freshen up when I get there. That's why I purchased the body wipes, deodorant, and women's cologne. I will also have a change of clothes in my backpack. It is summer afterall.
It's hard to find a place to see ideas for these kinds of things regarding the TCRWP events, so hopefully my postings will prove helpful.
More to come............
